Buildings inside city walls are mainly made of stone, because almost the entire city was burned about hundred years ago by a great fire. Most buildings are two storied and some even three storied. The baron thinks that his enemies lurk his life behind every corner and shadow. His manor is surrounded by a 2.5 meters high stone wall, which has only one gate that is locked around the clock. The gate has two guards all the time. In addition to those, about twenty other guards patrol elsewhere in the manor area. Acenus Credem the adviser of the baron, announces all baron's decisions, orders and announcements and take care of other running matters in the city.

Maintenance of law

A small garrison of Alcandian kingdom operates in the city. Size of the garrison is about 300 soldiers. Their task is guarding the city and guaranteeing the safety of its residents. Nearly all soldiers belong to a local people. Soldiers patrol the streets of the city around the clock. Patrolling soldiers wear full armor and other gear of Alcandian kingdom. They also occasionally patrol in nearby areas around the city.

Livelihood

In summertime trading is very busy and all docks are nearly all the time occupied by a merchant ships that bring a good quality fabrics for instance plus other commodities from south.

Demographics

Nearly all permanent residents in Achal are humans and alcanians. Few wood elf and hill dwarf live in town sometimes. Halflings are only seen as a random travelers. Many other human cultures like saagi and ceenal are well represented in summertime.

Else

Two quite big inns take care of the comfort of travelers. Other one is called the Peg leg and it is favored by sailors. The other one is Claymug. Additionally a dock area has many small taverns serving thirsty sailors after their long voyages. Center of the city is the enormous temple of Achal. The temple is very decorated and mainly made of stone and it is the biggest temple of Achal in Alcandia. Many worshippers arrive from a long distances to worship their god.
